Focus Fabric: Any color repro fabric. Kitty can be scrappy or all the same print. 100% cotton only!
Background Fabric: White solid or W.O.W. 100% cotton only!
Piece 1: Two 1-1/4" squares of focus fabric | |
Piece 6: One 1 ½" square of backround fabric | |
Piece 2: One 1 ½" x 3 ½" of backround fabric | |
Piece 5: One 1 ½" x 3 ½" of focus fabric | |
Piece 3: One 2 ½" x 3 ½" of focus fabric | |
Piece 4: One 2 ½" x 3 ½" of backround fabric | |
Piece 7: One 5 ½" x 6 ½" of focus fabric |
1) Sew a 1-1/4" focus fabric square (piece # 1) to each end of the 1 ½" x 3 ½" backround fabric (piece #2). This makes the ear unit. Trim and press. | |
2. Sew ear unit to 2 ½ x 3 ½" focus fabric (piece #3). Press. | |
3. Sew 1 ½" square of backround fabric (piece #6) to 1 ½ x 3 ½" focus fabric (piece #5). Press. This makes the back unit. | |
4. Sew the back unit to the 2 ½" x 3 ½" backround fabric (piece #4). Press. | |
5. Sew ear unit to back unit. Press. | |
6. Sew entire head/back unit to the 5 ½" x 6 ½" focus fabric (piece #4). Make sure the 5 ½" side is the "long" side and the 6 ½" side is the side sewn to the head/back unit. Press. | |
7. Measure your block and trim to 6 ½" x 8 ½". |
