1930's Repro Kitty Swap


What's Repro?

Okay…ya'll talked me into it!

March, 2001 - 6 ½ x 8 ½" unfinished block

Repro Kitty

Fabric:

The Repro Kitty block uses two different fabrics.

Focus Fabric: Any color repro fabric. Kitty can be scrappy or all the same print. 100% cotton only!

Background Fabric: White solid or W.O.W. 100% cotton only!

Set Amount:

6 blocks to a set. Blocks in a set can be the same or all different…but no two sets alike. 6 sets maximum per person.

Details:

Please put each set into a baggie with a paper tag on each block with your name, screen name, city and state. Or you can write on a back seam in permanent ink.
Due Date: March 01, 2001 Mail on time
Mail your blocks in a Tyvek Priority Envelope (free from the Post Office) which is waterproof. Enclose another Tyvek envelope with sufficient postage on it to cover USPS Priority Mail (usually about $3.70). Also, be sure to put your return address on the front, and write your screen name and number of sets on the front of your envelope.
Please email me when you send your package. I will swap out within a week of receiving all packages.

Cutting the fabric

This block requires:

Piece 1: Two 1-1/4" squares of focus fabric
Piece 6: One 1 ½" square of backround fabric
Piece 2: One 1 ½" x 3 ½" of backround fabric
Piece 5: One 1 ½" x 3 ½" of focus fabric
Piece 3: One 2 ½" x 3 ½" of focus fabric
Piece 4: One 2 ½" x 3 ½" of backround fabric
Piece 7: One 5 ½" x 6 ½" of focus fabric

Piecing it All Together

1) Sew a 1-1/4" focus fabric square (piece # 1) to each
end of the 1 ½" x 3 ½" backround fabric (piece #2).
This makes the ear unit. Trim and press.
2. Sew ear unit to 2 ½ x 3 ½" focus fabric (piece #3). Press.
3. Sew 1 ½" square of backround fabric (piece #6) to
1 ½ x 3 ½" focus fabric (piece #5). Press. This makes
the back unit.
4. Sew the back unit to the 2 ½" x 3 ½" backround
fabric (piece #4). Press.
5. Sew ear unit to back unit. Press.
6. Sew entire head/back unit to the 5 ½" x 6 ½" focus
fabric (piece #4). Make sure the 5 ½" side is the "long"
side and the 6 ½" side is the side sewn to the head/back unit.
Press.
7. Measure your block and trim to 6 ½" x 8 ½".
